When I began writing The Fianna Chronicles: Awakening, I didn’t just want to tell a story about a young woman called to destiny. I wanted to awaken a myth—something old as stone and alive in the marrow. A tale of oaths, memory, and the aching weight of forgotten promises.

At the heart of it all stands the Fianna.

They are not simply warriors. Not to me. Not to Aisling. Not to the world of Mórradún.

So I leave the page to Lirian now—chronicler, bard, and keeper of the flame—to tell you who the Fianna were and what they have become.

Lirian, Bard of Mórradún

There are those who believe the Fianna were only warriors.
Swords in the mist. Names carved on crumbling cairns.
But they are more than memory—they are inheritance.

The Fianna were once the wardens of Mórradún, guardians not of a kingdom but of balance.

Chosen not by blood but by trial.
Sworn not to a crown but to the people, the land, and the lore.

They were shepherds of flame, defenders of the quiet oaths—the kind that echo across generations.

And when the last of them fell, they were not gone.
Not truly.

They were unmoored.
Sleeping.
Waiting.

Waiting for the world to forget them.
Waiting for someone who would remember.

And those who hear it—the true heirs—do not always come bearing swords.
Some come with grief. With guilt. With doubt.
But even the broken may be chosen.
Even the lost may rise.

🔥 Echoes in Awakening

The Fianna aren’t just backstory—they are the soul of this saga.

Aisling doesn't simply inherit a medallion.
She inherits a burden.
A question:

What do we owe the past—and what must we become to face the future?

Calla, Elara, Ronan, and Aisling carry that question differently.
Some run from it.
Some fight it.
Some break under it.
And some… rise.

As Awakening unfolds, I invite you to listen for the echoes.
In their silence.
In their defiance.
In their sacrifice.

Because the world remembers more than we think.
And some legacies are not lost.
Only waiting to be reclaimed.
